About People For Animals
People For Animals (PFA) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization serving Middle Tennessee. Founded in 1986 by compassionate community members who saw the urgent need to address pet overpopulation, PFA has grown into a trusted resource for pet owners, animal shelters, and veterinary partners across the region.
We are not a shelter — we are an assistance and advocacy organization. Our volunteers work tirelessly to connect low-income pet owners with affordable spay/neuter services, partner with local veterinary clinics, and educate the public about responsible pet ownership.
What We Do
- Spay/Neuter Assistance: We provide financial assistance to low-income pet owners to help cover the cost of spaying or neutering their pets.
- Veterinary Partnerships: We work with a network of participating veterinary clinics across multiple Middle Tennessee counties.
- Community Education: We promote awareness about the importance of spaying and neutering, responsible pet ownership, and animal welfare.
- Partner Organizations: We collaborate with local shelters, rescue groups, and animal welfare organizations to maximize our impact.
