People For Animals provides assistance to pet owners
that need financial assistance in having their dog or
cat spayed/neutered. The path to spay or neuter with a
PFA assist begins when a pet owner calls the spay/neuter
phone line (615.794.8925) requesting assistance.
Through a conversation with a volunteer screener, a
determination is made about the type and level of
assistance that will be offered. The pet owner is
responsible for making the appointment with a
participating vet clinic that is agreed upon by the pet
owner and the PFA screener. If the animal is not a good
candidate for surgery because of physical condition, the
veterinarian makes the decision on delaying and
rescheduling the surgery. The pet owner is responsible
for any additional charges not indicated on the PFA
certificate.
